Macro photography can be lots of fun. Most of us are content with using standard lenses on our cameras. Some of us even venture out and use a telephoto lens. But every time we see macro photography, we all gasp. So why not venture out into the unknown and try some.
Oh, you don’t own a macro lens? Hmmm, the beauty is, your camera probably already has a macro setting on it. Look for the little flower. Or, you can rent one at your local photography store. Rent it for the weekend and check it out.
Here are some tips on photographing with a macro lens.
- Use a tripod
- Use a remote shutter or set your timer
- For a shallow depth of field set your aperture at f/2.8
- Increase the lighting in the area
- Lower the ISO setting to remove noise
- Practice, practice, practice

Just taking up photography, looks like a fun hobby to get involved with as I slip into senility. LOL Senior’s are always looking for ideas to entertain themselves. Great information.
