SLR Camera Lenses for Normal People

SLR camera lenses for normal people aren’t complicated. Most people believe that they have to buy lots of different lenses to get great photographs. Now don’t get me wrong. Many photographers love taking specialized photos with their favorite SLR camera lenses.

• macro
• portrait
• landscape
• sports

And all of these photographers need special lenses. But for the average person, buying all those special SLR camera lenses isn’t necessary. Most people will be able to satisfy all their photography challenges with an 18-55mm lens. Now I would highly recommend a Vibration Reduction lens so you won’t have to carry a tripod.

And I’m not saying not to buy other lenses. Just don’t get hung up on having to get another lens.

The beauty is, most SLR’s come with an 18-55mm lens. I was lucky. My Nikon D5000 came with a lens that has Vibration Reduction. So before you run out and buy special lenses, spend some time with the lenses you have. You may just find out that the best lens is the one you got with your camera.
